• Large homeless camp 'humanely' cleared in Chelmsford (bostonherald.com) — A major homeless encampment on state-owned land behind Chelmsford's Drum Hill Walmart was cleared last week after months of coordinated outreach by MassDOT, town officials, and local advocates to relocate residents humanely. Chelmsford police's Health & Wellness Division worked directly with people living there before cleanup, which removed tons of debris and hazardous waste. MassDOT has finished tree and brush clearing and is now installing perimeter fencing.
   

• Somerville organizations awarded funding from MassCEC (thesomervilletimes.com) — A Chelmsford-based company, REON Technology, is receiving $100,000 through MassCEC's new Climatetech Tax Incentives Program to improve the performance and lifespan of battery and solar energy systems. The grant is part of $27.2 million awarded to 18 climatetech firms statewide, aimed at growing clean-energy jobs and innovation across Massachusetts. This support could help expand local clean-tech employment and investment in Chelmsford.
