CHELMSFORD, MA — Voters in portions of Chelmsford and Lowell headed to the polls Tuesday to decide the Democratic nominee for the 16th Middlesex District seat in the Massachusetts House.
Lorena G. Betts of Chelmsford faced Corey Michael Robinson of Lowell in the Democratic primary.
Betts defeated Robinson for the nomination, according to unofficial results from the AP.
Republican Karla J. Miller of Lowell was the only Republican candidate listed for the district.
Polls closed at 8 p.m. Tuesday.
In other races, Sen. Ed Markey defeated U.S. Rep. Seth Moulton for the Democratic nomination.
On the Republican side, Mike Minogue topped for Brian Shortsleeve for the nomination for governor.
