The Wish Project of Lowell Accepts Generous Donation From Chelmsford High School Organization to Help Local Needy
the Wish Project of Lowell, a privately-funded organization helping the needy gain independence and thrive, by procuring donations and partnering with other area agencies, recently accepted a check donation from LIME (Leadership in Motion Everywhere), an organization at Chelmsford High School that hosts an annual 24-hour relay fundraiser to support local organizations in the Chelmsford community.
“LIME’s generosity will help us give a leg up to, and improve the quality of life for thousands of needy people in our community,” said Donna Hunnewell, Founder and Executive Director of the Wish Project. “Donations to the Wish Project, large and small, help people stretch their limited finances and escape homelessness for good.”

“Every day dozens of families are referred to us by more than 60 local homeless shelters, elder services, early intervention programs and other agencies. On any given night, more than 100 local children sleep on the floor because families cannot afford to buy a bed,” she said. “We can do something about this. We can grant wishes.”
The Wish Project coordinates monthly service projects and encourages community fundraisers. In addition to basic items, the Wish Project also procures furniture and large/bulk donations from the northeast, such as mattresses, clothing etc. using tractor trailers. One-time or recurring monetary contributions and corporate sponsorships are also accepted.

In addition to the Wish Project, LIME also recently presented checks to the Chelmsford Police and Fire Departments, the Chelmsford Senior Center, the Chelmsford Food Pantry, the CHS Alumni Association and the Chelmsford Coalition to Livesmart.
