The one day of the year when the highest number of cards are mailed is not Christmas - it is Mother’s Day! Thousands of songs and poems have also been written for mothers and by mothers. This is a testament to the fabric of family, and to a relationship we hold most dear. Pianist and singer-songwriter Anna Dagmar - a new mother herself - will perform a special celebration concert at Chelmsford Center for the Arts on the evening before Mother’s Day. Included in her repertoire will be favorites from her four albums, new original songs, and cover songs by artists including Dar Williams, Lucy Kaplansky and Sara Bareilles.

Anna Dagmar grew up in Chelmsford, graduated from CHS in 1996 and is based in New York City. She has released four highly acclaimed albums, the most recent garnering Gold Prize in the Mid-Atlantic Songwriting Contest and national performances including the Kerrville Folk Festival. Dagmar has toured throughout the US and in England, Germany and Sweden. She is also a composer in the Tony-winning BMI Advanced Musical Theatre Writing Workshop. Dagmar lives with her husband and 23-month-old daughter in Manhattan.
