Arbor Day Celebration at Chelmsford Library

This article describes the Arbor Day celebration by Chelmsford Garden Club

In honor of Arbor Day the Chelmsford Garden Club planted a Butterfly X Magnolia Tree on the lawn of Chelmsford Library on April 29th. The Magnolia X Butterfly is a stunning ornamental tree that showcases yellow blooms and is the first bloom to appear in spring. The name of the tree is taken from the fact that when it blooms, the flowers resemble butterflies. The tree attracts bees, butterflies and birds. The presentation of the tree was conducted by Ms. Catherine Crawford and Ms. Linda Giordano, Arbor Day Co-Chairs. Selectman, Pat Wojtas read an Official Proclamation of Arbor Day and James Giordano read some poems. Present at the ceremony were Chelmsford Club members, town officials, and other citizens. The Club hopes that this beautiful tree will bring pleasure to the residents of Chelmsford for many years to come.
