Arrest Made In Fatal Stabbing Near UMass-Lowell
An 18-year-old man died after he was stabbed multiple times Monday night.

LOWELL, MA – An arrest has been made in connection with a fatal stabbing near the UMass-Lowell campus Monday night. Victor Crespo, 21, of Lowell, has been charged with second-degree murder and two counts of violation of a restraining order.
The stabbing was reported around 7 p.m. in the area of Lawrence Drive and Riverwalk Walk. Investigators believe Crespo met 18-year-old Lowell resident Asiatic Alvarez for an apparent marijuana deal before he stabbed Alvarez multiple times and fled the scene, according to the Middlesex District Attorney's office.
Alvarez was taken to Lowell General Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. He was not a student at the school, the DA's office said.
