Art Walk as Seen by CGC

This article describes the project prepared by the Chelmsford Garden Club for the Art Show

We have endured the frigid Arctic breezes lately but suddenly a breath of spring air is on the horizon. The Chelmsford Garden Club is celebrating the seasons with a glorious display in the window of the Chelmsford Gift Shop for the Art Show/Art Competition sponsored by the Chelmsford Cultural District Partnership. The primary design will be four seasons and each season will be in a container perched on a pedestal to be “framed” by a wooden frame hanging from the ceiling by a clear fish line. Summer will be represented by a Fairy Garden with succulents; fall will feature Chinese lanterns, gourds, and mums or carnations; winter will be prominently white with greens and cardinals; spring will be embodied by pussy willows and spring bulb flowers. Small slates with quotes/poems will reflect each season. The display will be an interactive challenge with a troupe of cute little frogs hidden here and there to see if you can find them. Even the children will enjoy this activity.

The Chelmsford Center Village Art Walk 2015 Art Show/Art Competition will run from February 7 through February 27, 2015. A juried vote will be made by judges on February 12th. There will also be an online poll for a popular vote (check library website). There are 11 windows in total and you can vote for the window of your choice. Paper Ballots are available at the individual stores and also at the Chelmsford Public Library. The Chelmsford Garden Club is very excited to be participating in this wonderful competition and we hope you stop by the Chelmsford Gift Shop to see our exhibit and reward us with your vote.
