Boston Marathon Bombing Survivor Jeff Bauman Weds

Ceremony took place at the couple's Chelmsford home.

Boston Marathon Bombing survivor and Chelmsford resident Jeff Bauman is officially a married man.

Bauman married fiancée Erin Hurley at the couple’s home in Chelmsford on Saturday. Bauman’s agent told CBS Boston it was an “intimate ceremony at their home surrounded by family and friends.”

The couple welcomed their first child, Nora Gail Bauman in July.

Bauman lost both his legs in the blasts from the Boston Marathon Bombing on April 15, 2013. His rescue received global attention as the heart-wrenching image of the Chelmsford resident, severely injured, being wheeled away from the Boston Marathon bombing scene by first responders and good samaritan Carlos Arredondo was published around the world.

In addition, Bauman has been hailed one of the Boston Marathon heroes, helping identify Dzhokhar Tsarnaev as the alleged bomber.

Last April, Bauman published his first book, “Stronger,” about his experience.
