Car Crashes Into Chelmsford Jewelry Store

A car drove through the front of Charles Frederick Jewelers Thursday afternoon.

CHELMSFORD, MA – Police are investigating after a car crashed into the front of a Chelmsford jewelry store. Police responded to Charles Frederick Jewelers on Alpine Lane around 1:30 p.m. and found the four-door Toyota Camry halfway in the building.

The driver, a 61-year-old Tyngsborough woman, told police she was pulling into a parking spot and mistakenly hit the gas pedal instead of the brake pedal, according to a statement. She was treated at the scene and declined further medical attention. No one else was in the car at the time.

The jewelry store was open and customers were inside at the time of the crash, but no one was injured, police said.
