Chelmsford All Town Wind Ensemble to Play at Fenway Park

The Chelmsford All Town Wind Ensemble (ATWE), composed of approximately 70 volunteer student musicians in grades 5-12, has been selected to perform The Star Spangled Banner for the 6:05 p.m. Red Sox game on April 14th, 2015 at Fenway Park. The ensemble was required to prepare a high quality recording of the National Anthem to be considered for this highly publicized event. After an hour-long recording session at an ATWE rehearsal in the McCarthy Auditorium, a new experience for most members, a recording was send to the Red Sox, and was accepted!

The students will now work on memorizing their arrangement of The Star Spangled Banner for this performance. Performing members, families, Chelmsford Public School Faculty, and community members are all invited to attend and sit together at the game. Ticket order forms will be available online starting on December 11th, and are due by January 26th. The Chelmsford All Town Wind Ensemble is a spirited group of enthusiastic young musicians enrolled in the McCarthy Middle School, Parker Middle School, and Chelmsford High School Band Programs. These students are dedicated to rehearsing after school hours to play advanced music of high artistic merit. ATWE is co-directed by CPS Music Faculty members Allison Lacasse and Sean Wright.
