Chelmsford Cruises Past Lawrence in Girls Tennis Action

The conditions were blustery. But the Chelmsford High School girls tennis team was scorching from start to finish on Wednesday afternoon.

The Lady Lions earned a shutout victory over Lawrence on the day, cruising past their opponents, 5-0.

Mary Kosewski set the tone for Chelmsford, toppling Perla Ramirez, 7-5, 6-4, at No. 1 singles.

Nikki Santhanakrishan, playing at No. 2 for the Lions, snagged an easy 6-1, 6-1, victory over Lawrence's Moredia Dicent while No. 3 singles player Bridget Doherty played to a 6-0, 6-2, win over Nichole Rodriguez.

At doubles, Jaye Stanway and Alex Hamilton dispatched of their opponent with a 6-2, 6-3, decision, and No. 2 doubles team Kriti Badola and Erin Sweeney fittingly capped the scoring with a 6-0, 6-0, win.

The Lady Lions next hit the courts with a match in Lowell on Thursday afternoon.
