Chelmsford Man Charged with Assault with Dangerous Weapon

Tuesday, May 29
- At 12:31 a.m., police responded to Washington Street for a report of a vehicle "hitting trash barrels."
- At 9:11 a.m., animal control responded to Minuteman Drive for a report of a bat in a house.
- At 10:40 a.m., police arrested a Lowell man on Drum Hill Road. Sherif Milad Daoud, 29, of 355 Pawtucket Blvd., was charged with illegal possession of a class B substance, failure to use a seatbelt, and operating a motor vehicle with a revoked license.
- At 11:35 p.m., police responded to Dartmouth Street for a report of an assault. Lawrence E. Bates, 46, of 7 Dartmouth St., was charged with assault and battery.
- At 11:40 a.m., police took a lobby report from a Queen Street resident regarding an assault and battery. Eric I. Higgins, 24, of 8 Queen Street, was charged with assault and battery, assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, threatening to commit a crime, and intimidation of a witness.
- At 2:56 p.m., police responded to Church Street for a possible home break-in.
- At 5:28 p.m., police responded to Tyngsborough Road for a report of a past car break-in.
- At 6:13 p.m., police arrested a Chelmsford man at Central Square. Evan Costello, 20, of 8 Fleetwood Dr., was charged with being a fugitive from justice.
- At 11:32 p.m., police responded to a Marina Road car crash. Injuries were reportedly minor.
