Chelmsford Man Charged With Assault with Dangerous Weapon

Friday
- At 11:20 a.m., police responded to Groton Road for a report of attempted assault with a knife. Eric P. Demeo, 21, of 39 Groton Road, was charged with assault with a dangerous weapon.
- At 2:18 p.m., animal control responded to School Street at the railroad tracks for a report of a beaver.
- At 2:44 p.m, police responded to Chelmsford Street for a report of a shoplifter.
- At 4:58 p.m., police responded to Chelmsford Street for a report of a van seen at a vacant house.
- At 5:41 p.m, police and fire responded to Moore Street for a report of a brush fire.
- At 7:14 p.m., police responded to Drum Hill Road for a shoplifter.

- At 8:15 a.m., an elderly female reported an "animal in the house."
- At 1:06 p.m., police responded to Dunstable Road for a larceny from a shed.
- At 1:22 p.m., police responded to Groton Road for a report of a dead cat found in a postal bin. Police said they do not suspect a specific case of abuse.
- At 4:41 p.m, a Lowell man was arrested on Gorham Street near the Lowell line. Brian M. Kirste, 27, of 8 Exeter St., was charged with operating a motor vehicle with a revoked license.
Sunday
- At 8:36 a.m., police responded to Independence Drive for a report of a breaking and entering a motor vehicle overnight.
- At 8:56 p.m., Thomas C. Wade, of 10 Mallory St., Chelmsford, was arrested at Vinyl Square and Groton Road. He was charged with operating without a license and operating with defective equipment. He was also arrested on a warrant.
