Chelmsford Man Survives 60-Foot Fall Rock Climbing in Maine

A Chelmsford man survived a fall about 60 feet while rock climbing Friday morning at a national park in Maine, according to a WCVB-TV report.

The 32-year-old man was not identified in the report, and he suffered non-life threatening injuries. Park officials said the man was part of a private group climbing Otter Cliffs at Acadia National Park, the report stated. He was rescued by a U.S. Coast Guard boat then taken to Eastern Maine Medical Center by helicopter, the report added.

The fall was one of three separate incidents of park visitors suffering injuries within a three-hour window Friday at the park, the report stated.
