NASHUA, NH — A man with no fixed address robbed his ex-girlfriend and assaulted her earlier this month, landing her in the hospital, according to police. Shaun Jerome, 39, committed the crimes April 11 and was tracked down and arrested in Chelmsford, Massachusetts Saturday, according to Nashua police Lieutenant Kerry Baxter. Jerome was charged with robbery, theft and second-degree assault during an act of domestic violence. He refused bail and was held in custody pending an arraignment Wednesday in Nashua District Court, Baxter said.

Baxter said the incident started at a downtown residence when Jerome demanded money from the ex-girlfriend and she refused.

"Jerome then forcefully took the woman’s purse from her and took money out," Baxter said. "When the woman attempted to take her money back from Jerome, a struggle ensued. The woman sustained an injured arm in the struggle and sought treatment at a Nashua hospital. Detectives from the Special Investigations Division furthered the investigation and obtained a warrant for Jerome for robbery."

Baxter said the woman's arm injury was serious, resulting in the second-degree assault charge against Jerome.
