Chelmsford Police Name New Sergeant

Chelmsford police on Monday announced Officer Bill Carlo was promoted to sergeant.

CHELMSFORD, MA — Chelmsford police Officer Bill Carlo was promoted to sergeant, police announced Monday. Carlo joined Chelmsford police in 2012 after starting his police career in Lincoln in 2003.

“Sgt. Carlo has been a key member of the Chelmsford Police Department and quickly earned a reputation as a highly knowledgeable and professional officer," Chelmsford police Chief James Spinney said in a statement. “I believe he will continue to be a vital asset in his new position and will go on serving the community with distinction.”

Carlo will serve primarily as patrol supervisor in the morning. He also serves on the police honor guard and the Northeastern Massachusetts Law Enforcement Council’s Rapid Response Team.
