CHELMSFORD, MA – Heart Pond and Freeman Lake in Chelmsford will reopen this week after being closed due to a high bacteria count, town officials said. Both beaches will be open Wednesday, and lifeguards will be on-site. Heart Pond is located in the southwest part of town, bordering Westford. Freeman Lake is located in North Chelmsford.Health Inspector Mark Masiello retested both beaches, according to the town.
