Chelmsford Public Garden Under Construction
This article describes the activity at 7 North Rd. as the installation of the Chelmsford Public Garden is under way.
The beautiful dream has become a reality and Chelmsford Public Garden is HAPPENING! If you have driven by 7 North Road lately you know that the place is alive with workers from all over town. The loam has been spread, evergreen and deciduous trees are planted and the electrical lines for lights have been laid. A handicapped access walkway has been installed. When the park is finished there will be 2 picnic tables one of which is open at one end for handicap accessibility, 5 additional benches, 5 under lights and 3 black light posts, a new fence and a magnificent welcoming sign. Shrubs and perennials will be planted along the fence. The generosity of the Chelmsford business community and our citizens has made it possible for all of this to happen under the leadership of Brenda Lovering and the entire Chelmsford Garden Club. The Chelmsford Garden Club is a member of the Garden Club Federation of MA. Now for the finishing touches we need shrubs and plants to fill in the spaces and to add color. All donations are acknowledged with a permanent sign. If you would like to help push this project to its conclusion, you can contact us at chelmsfordgardenclub14@gmail.com for more information. Be sure to watch for the grand opening ceremony in June.
