Chelmsford Representative Jim Arciero Wins Re-election in Emotional Campaign

Westford’s Jim Arciero won re-election Tuesday in a “bittersweet” victory.

His father, Gerard, died Oct. 25.

Arciero, a Democratic state representative who represents the Second Middlesex District, defeated Republican Dennis Galvin and unenrolled candidate Arleen Martino.

Arciero’s district includes Westford, Chelmsford, and Littleton.

“It was a bittersweet night,” Aricero said in a statement. ”I wish my father was there to share it with me. However, I know he’s looking down at me and and proud of what we have been able to achieve.”
