Chelmsford Senior Center Receives New Deck From Nashoba Tech Students

They have been working for a while and will put down their tools in June.

Work has been ongoing for a while on a new deck for the Chelmsford Senior Center, an effort by Nashoba Valley Technical High School carpentry students, the Chelmsford Independent reported.

Juniors and seniors have been alternating weeks to work on the deck, which will be at the center’s front entrance with a pergola for shade, according to the Chelmsford independent. It will include a ramp for accessibility and comply with the Americans with Disabilities Act.

The students have been working with the Department of Public Works on the project, which was delayed from its intended spring opening by weather conditions. It is now expected to be finished by the town, while the students will continue working until June 17 (the last day of school), as reported by the Chelmsford Independent.
