Colby Emanouil Commands the Football Field
Senior quarterback Colby Emanouil contributed three TDs against Acton Boxborough last week - on his birthday.

Senior Colby Emanouil played a remarkable game last Friday, scoring three touchdowns against Acton Boxborough. The senior quarterback displayed total command of the game, as he completed two rushing TDs, as well as a complete pass to teammate Vinny Maniscalco.
“He had a great game,” said Coach Bruce Rich.
Emanouil has been playing the QB position for of his life. Rich said that Emanouil started playing football in Pop Warner, and hasn’t slowed down since.

“As a sophomore, he saw some [playing] time… and then last year he was able to play the game and really contribute,” said Rich. “[When the starting QB last year was injured] Colby was able to come in along with Pat McLaughlin and get the job done. So he’s got that experience, and he’s played that position for a long time, and he knows our offensive inside and out.”
Colby worked hard this summer in preparation for this season, and the training has allowed him to become a force on the field. His quick footwork adds to his strength as a player.

“He’s very quick and very elusive, [and] he’s very strong. Colby gets better every day, and works hard,” Rich said.
This season, the Lions hope to play well in all their league games, and advance to the playoffs. Rich said if the team can avoid injuries, they will likely achieve their goal.
“We’re hoping that everyone stays healthy. If Colby can stay healthy, he’ll continue to improve. He’s getting better at reading defenses, and picking up the receiver and going through with his progressions.”
Next year, Emanouil has his sights on playing in college. Rich said the quarterback is keeping his options open at this point, but will likely find a school that is a good fit.
Emanouil is a great teammate, and regularly puts the team’s interests before his own personal interests, said his coach.
“He’s a very unselfish player; his motivation is for the team to win.”
