DeFreitas is honest and not biased, and can build on what he started

I voted for Town Moderator Dick DeFreitas when he ran for his first term, and I intend to vote for him again.  Dick overall has done an outstanding job as Town Moderator. Yes, of course there is a learning curve with every new job, and there are also changes that come with it.

He has done a great job, he sought out and encouraged the required “knowledge” that he needed to do his job as Moderator and do it well.  Some of that information came from fellow Town Moderators, from Chelmsford Town Counsel, also from the rules, regulations and by-laws governing Chelmsford Town Meeting, and I applaud Dick for seeking such “knowledge”.

During Dick’s first term as Town Moderator he worked with town employees and consultants to implement an electronic voting system, which has held many accountable for their votes and their attendance.  He has successfully appointed qualified candidates for the Chelmsford Finance Committee, and created the Moderator’s Advisory Committee comprised of Town Meeting Representatives from each Precinct to monitor and update the rules and regulations governing Town Meeting.

Dick looked to Town Meeting to partner with him, to properly, efficiently and effectively run the Chelmsford Town Meeting.  Yes, there were some changes made, some were easily accepted others were not, but……………….  

Dick DeFreitas, as the Town Moderator accepted the constructive criticism, embracing the recommendations from Town Meeting and Counsel for a streamline, efficient and well organized moderation of the Chelmsford Town Meeting.

I find Dick to be an honest, upstanding member of the Chelmsford community and has always strived to be fair, and just when he moderated over Town Meeting.  Who could ask for more?  

I am voting for Dick DeFreitas for Town Moderator because his is not bias, honest and an outstanding man and he deserves the opportunity to finish what he started and continue to work with the Town of Chelmsford to successfully oversee the Town Meeting for a second term!

I encourage you to vote for Dick DeFreitas, Town Moderator on Tuesday April 1, 2014.
