Department of Elementary and Secondary Education Assistant Commissioner Dr. Jonathan Landman to Appear on Eye On PARCC

Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) Assistant Commissioner for Teaching and Learning, Dr. Jonathan Landman will be interviewed by Chelmsford Superintendent of Schools, Dr. Frank A. Tiano on the new PARCC assessments for the next episode of Eye on PARCC due out in April.

Eye on PARCC is a cable television show produced by the Chelmsford Public Schools in Chelmsford, Massachusetts.  The purpose of the show is to prepare the community at large for the change from the MCAS standardized assessment to the PARCC online assessment.  The hosts include Executive Director of Technology and Information, Ms. Anne-Marie Fiore, Coordinator of English Language Arts, Dr. Linda Hirsch, and Coordinator of Mathematics, Dr. Matthew Beyranevand.  The episodes will give parents, students, teachers, and the community a look at the upcoming PARCC assessments. 

The second episode of Eye on PARCC will be filmed at the Chelmsford Telemedia (CTM) Studios. It will be a combination of a light-hearted look at learning about PARCC with a game show segment, as well as an interview segment by Superintendent Frank Tiano with Assistant Commissioner Jonathan Landman.  The Chelmsford Public Schools is participating in the PARCC field tests during the spring of 2014.

Eye on PARCC will join the current lineup of educational cable shows that combine a look inside the Chelmsford Schools on Inside CPS, along with Literacy with Linda, Math with Matthew, Spotlight on Fine Arts, and the Lions Pride.  CPS programming an be seen on the educational channel (CTM-ED) airing on Chelmsford Comcast 22 and Verizon 36 as well as online at http://www.chelmsfordtv.org

– Daily 10:00AM, 1:00PM, 4:00PM, and 10PM

Dr. Frank Tiano, Superintendent of Schools, made the announcement about the Eye on PARCC earlier this school year. "We’ve planned Eye on PARCC to give our community a look at the upcoming PARCC assessments, and we are happy that Dr. Landman from the DESE is joining us for this episode,” said Tiano.  “With all of the good work happening in our schools, we find that our television shows are an excellent venue to showcase our schools.  The upcoming PARCC transition is no different, deserving its own show to inform our faculty and community.”  Eye on PARCC can be seen daily at 10:30AM, 1:30PM, 4:30PM and, 7:30PM on Chelmsford Telemedia Comcast Channel 22 and Verizon Channel 36.
