Dramatic Comeback Sparks Lions Baseball [VIDEO]

Chelmsford High School had the bases empty and two outs in its final at bat before scraping together a run to force extra innings and eventually beating Westford Academy, 3-2.

With the bases empty and two outs in the top of the seventh and final inning, the Chelmsford High School appeared to be headed for a 2-1 road loss at Westford Academy. But when the Grey Ghosts left the door open a crack, the Lions kicked it in and came roaring back to a 3-2 win.

Jack Campsmith laced a long fly ball to right field that was misplayed with two outs in the seventh, allowing him to reach third base on and error and giving Chelmsford a flicker of hope on Thursday.

One batter later, Michael DeDonato laced a single just inside the third base bag, scoring Campsmith and sending the game to extra innings.

In the ninth inning, the Lions completed their comeback when Mark Keller reached on an infield single and stole second base with no one out. Tommy Bishop then sacrifice bunted him to third and Campsmith stung a hard grounder that Westford couldn't handle, pushing home the eventual game-winning run.
