Crooked Spring Reservation Drainage Pipe Repair Work Day

The water level at Crooked Spring Reservation on Crooked Spring in Chelmsford is extremely low due to a broken or clogged drainage pipe.  To help fix the problem and restore the water for the benefit of wildlife and their habitats, the Chelmsford Open Space Stewardship is recruiting volunteers to help fill about 500 sandbags and place them around the exposed pipe so it can be safely repaired.  It will be hard, dirty work, but very fulfilling.  The Stewards always have fun, and have been volunteering their time for almost five years because of the quality of people and commitment to community.  The project promises to be rewarding, and there is a rumor that hot dogs and beverages will be provided.  Please call Phil Stanway at 978-273-1474 or email phil@thechelmsfordian.com to volunteer.
