Run For Ryan's Cup 5K Chelmford Police Road Race
The ninth Annual “ Run for Ryan’s Cup” 5K Road Race is being held Sunday, September 16thth at the Chelmsford Elks, 300 Littleton Road (Route 110) Chelmsford, MA. New this year the Race Course has been USATF Certified for the serious runner. That said we also welcome as many people that want to walk the course as well.
Registration opens at 9 AM. Kid’s fun run at 10:30 (no registration fee, for ages 10 & under)and the 5K Road Race starts at 11:00AM and all walkers follow. The course is a beautiful course, relatively flat and enjoyable to run / walk well. The first 250 registered runners/walkers will also receive a race shirt. So register fast.

Following the race, Ryan’s Cup and cash will be awarded to the overall Male and Female winners and trophies will be awarded to different age categories. All children receive numbers & medals. This year’s event will also include a jump house, games for kids , a post race party including a cookout, beverages, silent auction, live music etc.
The race is organized by The Apostolakes family, Chelmsford Police and managed by Mark Coddaire of Marx Running & Fitness Center. , The Greater Lowell Road Runners Group also handles the timing and water stops - It has become a standard on the local race calendar while keeping focused as a family event. The race is held in memory of Ryan Apostolakes and others. All proceeds from the race go to Chelmsford Police Public safety programs, PAL programs where children become connected to the community through activities and education, defibrillator funds and the Chelmsford Open Space to invest in public safety at their locations.
