Hidden Gem: Ancient Echos Arts

Pottery shop recently moved from North Chelmsford to 19 Alpine Lane.

Ancient Echos Arts is a full-service ceramics and pottery shop, retail store, and instruction facility. Located at 19 Alpine Lane, Ancient Echos Arts recently moved from its location in North Chelmsford to utilize more space.

Sharon Levy, the instructional ceramist and owner of the shop, is a certified master teacher, and has been crafting fine ceramics for over 25 years. According to her website, Levy produces "a variety of works using ancient methods, materials and techniques."

Those shopping her store will find decorative items like vases, urns, beaded pendants, and sculptures made of ceramic, a ceramic dragon perched in a corner of the store, and traditional items such as plates, mugs, and bowls in blue, green, and earth-colored glazes. Levy also produces a variety of Judaica, such as Passover plates, Tzedakah boxes, and dreydl vases.

All items are freezer, microwave, oven, dishwasher, and food safe. Ancient Echoes Arts ceramics should not be used over an open flame.

Want to give your special someone a gift that will get them involved in the process? Ancient Echoes Arts holds classes on Tuesday mornings, and Wednesday and Thursday evenings. The classes run for six weeks from Jan 17 to Feb 21. For $350, the class offers 25 pounds of clay, a 2 and a half hour instructional period per week, as well as a 2 hour "open studio" period. A children's class is also offered for kids from 9 to 13 years of age. Learn more about the class schedule here.
