The annual event on Friday showed Chelmsford High juniors and seniors the dangers of drunk driving.

seniors and juniors crowded outside the school to witness the annual Mock Car Crash, a pre-prom event organized to communicate the dangers of drinking and driving.

“We put this event together to make an impact on each and every one of you…today’s event is one of the most powerful that you will witness in your lifetime,” Chelmsford High principal Anne O’Bryant told the crowd, who congregated at the Performing Arts Center prior to the crash.

Students James Driscoll, Kevin Hazel, Meaghan Tuttle, and Joe Gennarro portrayed accident victims based on themselves in a scenario where Driscoll rammed into Hazel’s car passing through a red light while drunk.
