Chelmsford's Kevin Whitney Joins Newton-Wellesley Hospital
New Chief Nursing Officer to Further Advance Care Delivery and Patient Safety

Kevin Whitney, DNP, RN, NEA-BC has been named Chief Nursing Officer and Senior Vice President, Patient Care Services. Whitney previously served as Associate Chief Nurse at Massachusetts General Hospital since 2011 and has been responsible for the Surgical, Orthopedics and Neurosciences Services.
Before joining MGH in 2011, Whitney dedicated much of his career to the acute care community setting including 20 years at Emerson Hospital. There he served in key clinical and leadership roles including Emergency Department Staff Nurse, Nurse Manager of Emergency Services and Chief Nursing Officer/Vice President for Patient Care Services from 2006-2010.
He earned his Doctorate in Nursing Practice from the MGH Institute for Health Professions, an MHA from Framingham State University, a BSN from the University of Massachusetts Lowell, and an AS in Paramedic Technology from Northeastern University. A member of the Organization of Nurse Leaders of MA, RI, NH & CT (past president), American Organization of Nurse Executives, New England Life Care Board of Directors and the National Ski Patrol, Whitney is also an instructor at the MGH Institute of Health Professions School of Nursing, has published several journal articles, and delivers presentations in his areas of expertise.

Whitney lives in Chelmsford with his wife Cindy. They have two adult children, Kerri, a middle school music teacher and Zachary, a firefighter/advanced EMT.
