The Lions will face the Waltham High School Hawks tonight at 7 p.m. in the first regular game of the season. The game will be at Waltham High School.
The Lions are coming off a 6-5 season in 2009 ended in a 17-0 defeat against Billerica on Thanksgiving Day. Still, Coach Bruce Rich is confident the Lions can bring home a championship this year.
"We take it one game at a time, but we set our goals high," he said. "We don't look past anyone else."

To prepare for tonight's match, Chelmsford High played an intersquad scrimmage and scrimmages against Salem High and Leominster High as part of pre-season play.
Key players in tonight's game will be senior quarterback A.J. Rotella, running back Joe Gennaro, linebacker Timmy Joy and defensive back Zack Hayes.

The Waltham Hawks went 5-5 last year.
