Lowell Fire: Child Killed

Authorities said a Lowell child died in a fire on Parker Street Friday morning.

LOWELL, MA — A 3-year-old boy was killed in a fire in Lowell on Parker Street Friday morning, according to authorities. The blaze broke out sometime around 6 a.m. at a residence.

When fire crews arrived at the scene, about eight people were outside after fleeing the blaze, Lowell fire Chief Jeffrey Winward told WHDH-7News. Firefighters pulled the boy from a bedroom amid heavy flames; he was hospitalized and pronounced dead, officials said.

Two others were hurt in the fire, Winward said.
