Man Carjacked Driver After Chelmsford Crash: Police
A man involved in a crash on I-495 allegedly carjacked another driver with a hatchet, state police said.

CHELMSFORD, MA – A Lawrence man was arrested following a crash and subsequent reported carjacking in Chelmsford, state police said. The 42-year-old was driving one of the cars involved in a crash on I-495 South around 7:35 p.m. that left a jackknifed tractor trailer blocking two lanes.
Police said the man then carjacked another vehicle with a hatchet. He allegedly struck two other cars on I-495 South before crashing in Littleton near Rt. 2.
The man attempted to carjack two more vehicles, police said. He was arrested after being tased by a state police trooper and taken to Emerson Hospital.
