Man Killed In Lowell Crash Was Fleeing Police: DA
Police in Billerica lost sight of the car before it crashed in Lowell, the DA's office said.

LOWELL, MA – A man killed in a crash in Lowell Wednesday night had sped away from police trying to pull him over, according to the Middlesex District Attorney's office. Police attempted to stop a Volkswagen Jetta near Billerica Avenue in Billerica but lost it when it sped off toward Lowell, the DA said.
The officer found the car crashed near the intersection of Woburn Street and I-495. Investigators believe the car hit a second vehicle before crashing into a concrete barrier.
The driver, a Billerica man in his 30s, was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the second car was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, authorities said.
