On Monday, October 17th, the Cross Country Team traveled to Westford for a meet with area schools.  The girls team defeated Stony Brook and Blanchard Middle Schools, both of Westford, but fell to a talented Tyngsboro team.  Chelmsford's Kelsey Tinker was 2nd out of 97 runners, completing the 2 mile course in 13:35.  Rounding out the top five for McCarthy were Allison Taylor, Giulia Rabbito, Annie Bailey, and Caroline St. Peter. The boys team outran Tyngsboro for the second week in a row, but loss close races to Stony Brook and to Blanchard.  6th grader Peter McCarthy led the way, finishing in 13:12.  Cameron Murphy, Sean Riley, Colin O'Brien, and Jake Hartshorn also ran well. The lions will travel to Gloucester on Thursday, October 27th for their championship meet.  The boys will attempt to defend their title for the third year in a row.
