Megan's House Founder Accused Of Attempted Rape At High School
Timothy Grover, who founded the drug treatment home in memory of his daughter, is charged with a string of assaults at Lowell High School.
LOWELL, MA — The founder of a drug treatment facility for women has been charged with a string of assaults at Lowell High School, including an attempted rape, according to police. Megan's House founder Timothy Grover, 55, of Dracut, was arrested Monday afternoon after a woman told police he attacked her.
The woman flagged an officer down on Arcand Drive around 4 p.m. and said a man tried to rape her inside the school, according to police. Park Rangers found a man, later identified as Grover, matching the description of the attacker on Kirk and Paige Street, police said. Grover was struggling with the Rangers when officers arrived, according to a police statement.
"Mr. Grover was yelling profanities and threatening the officers," police said. "Grover kicked an officer and attempted to bite the officer." Investigators found Grover assaulted two other people inside Lowell High School, police said.

Grover founded The Megan House Foundation in memory of his late daughter, according to the Lowell Sun. He cut ties with the organization 18 months ago and has not been involved in operations since then, the foundation said in a statement.
"There is nothing more important to the staff, leadership and board of The Megan House than creating a safe and supportive environment for the young women we serve," the statement read in part.
