Memorial Day In Chelmsford: What You Need To Know

Here's how the town will observe Memorial Day, plus a list of what's open and closed.

CHELMSFORD, MA – Memorial Day Is Monday, May 28, and Chelmsford will mark the holiday with a parade beginning at the parking lot across from the library. The parade will step off at 10 a.m. in the parking lot between Friendly's and CVS on Boston Road.

If you would like to participate, please assembly by 9:30 a.m.

  • Boston Road to Chelmsford Street
  • left onto Fletcher Street
  • right onto North Road
  • left onto Worthen Street
  • left onto Westford Street
  • end on Town Common

There will be a Memorial Day program immediately afterward on the Town Common.

  • Subway, buses: Sunday schedule
  • Supermarkets: Open
  • Convenience stores: Open

  • Basically anything to do with municipal government: Closed
  • Libraries, see above: Closed
  • Schools: Closed
  • Mail: Express delivery only
  • Trash/recycling collection: Delayed one day. Monday pickup on Tuesday, Tuesday pickup on Wednesday, etc., ending with Friday pickup on Saturday.
