Anthony Mansolilli pleaded guilty to shaking his 3-month-old to the point of "substantial" injury because her crying was bothering him.

LOWELL, MA – A Lowell man will not see jail time after pleading guilty Wednesday to being so fed up with his toddler's crying that he shook her to the point of "substantial" injury, Middlesex DA Marian Ryan said.
Anthony Mansolilli, 30, pleaded guilty in Lowell Superior Court to one count of assault and battery on a child causing substantial bodily injury. He will be sentenced to five years probation and cannot have unsupervised contact with any child under the age of 10, including the victim unless authorized by the Department of Children and Families and/or the Juvenile Court overseeing the care and protection case. He also cannot work or volunteer with children under 10, and he must get in mental health treatment and take all medications as prescribed. He also must complete parenting and anger management classes and and wear a GPS bracelet for the first two years of probation with house arrest with windows to seek employment, participate in mental health treatment, and other programs.
The DA's office said that on Nov. 5, 2016, at approximately 6:40 p.m., Lowell Police responded to a call for an unresponsive infant. Police arrived to find a pale, unresponsive 3-month-old girl being held by her grandmother. Mansolilli was also present. The girl received treatment and was transported to Lowell General Hospital.

Two days later Mansolilli said that the baby's crying bothered him so much that he lost control, picked her up, and shook her. Police said Mansolilli denied her head hit anything.
Mansolilli noticed his daughter went limp, was having trouble breathing, and had one eye rolled back in her head. He then panicked, and told his mother they needed to go to the hospital, the DA's office said. A 911 call was placed at this time.
