Prostitution Bust: 7 Arrested In Lowell

An undercover prostitution sting resulted in the arrests of five men and two women in Lowell, police announced Monday.

LOWELL, MA — Seven people were arrested in a prostitution bust in Lowell, police announced Monday afternoon. The undercover operation was conducted in the city's Lower Highlands neighborhood Thursday. Five men were arrested for attempting to hire a prostitute and two women were charged with offering sex for money.

Police identified the five men as:

  • Alan Desmettre, 63, of Pelham, New Hampshire
  • Louis Leakeas, 66, of Lowell
  • Zaid Saleem, 28, of Lowell
  • Vanderly Andrade, 39, of Lowell
  • Augustus Miller, 38, of Lowell

The two women were identified as:

  • Kayleigh Frost, 30, of Lowell
  • Monique Wiitala, 37, Dunstable

"The operation was part of the Lowell Police Department's ongoing efforts to rid the City's neighborhood of this type of activity," Lowell police said in a statement.
