Rev. Dr. Richard Knight Called as Pastor of Central Congregational Church

Chelmsford, MA—Central Congregational Church UCC in Chelmsford is pleased to announce that Rev. Dr. Richard Knight has been called as its new pastor, beginning July 1, 2016. Rev. Knight most recently served for six years at Trinitarian Congregational Church of North Andover, previously serving 14 years at First Parish Church in York, Maine, and 13 years at Ridge Valley UCC in Sellersville, Pennsylvania. He is a graduate of Muhlenberg College; Princeton Theological Seminary, where he earned his Master of Divinity; and Eastern University, where he earned his Doctor of Ministry in Marriage and Family Ministry.
“I am so honored and excited to join the wonderful people of Central Congregational Church,” said Rev. Knight. “I am humbled and inspired by CCC’s sense of mission, constantly striving to make a difference in this world, and I deeply share in their focus on spiritual growth and being a caring community of faith.”
In more than 33 years of ministry, Rev. Knight has demonstrated a profound commitment to mission. He led 19 youth mission trips and looks forward to joining CCC’s mission to Downeast Maine in August, providing a week of making homes warm, safe, and dry for those less fortunate. A certified “End of Life Coach” for the dying and grieving, Rev. Knight also loves to lead support groups, meditation groups, Bible studies and book clubs throughout the year.

“Central Congregational Church is incredibly blessed to welcome Pastor Rich into our faith community,” said Peter White, church moderator and chair of the pastoral search committee. “He brings many gifts to our church as a leader, counselor, preacher, and a Christian who lives and shares his faith deeply.”
Rev. Knight is married to Alisa Pearson Knight, who earned her Master of Divinity degree from Princeton Theological Seminary. They have a young daughter and two teenage sons.
