Should the Town's Zoning Board of Appeals Be Elected Rather than Appointed?

It's one of five warrant articles submitted by residents in advance of the Fall Annual Town Meeting.

The town received five citizen petition warrant articles for the Oct. 20 fall Annual Town Meeting.

Three articles were submitted by Jerry Lowe which would, according to the town website, amend the Town charter and the town’s zoning bylaw to change the town’s Zoning Board of Appeals from an appointment board to an elected one.

Two articles were submitted by Pat Maloney. The first is to fund design and renovation plans for the new Department of Public Works facility at 9 Alpha Road. The article also calls to consolidate the current DPW vehicle maintenance operations currently at 54 Richardson Road. Maloney’s second article would fund the demolition and disposal of the fire station at 7 North Road and grade the site to be level with the roadway.
