Spring Arriving at Chelmsford Public Garden
Article includes new features at the garden and invites the public to contribute to ongoing projects.
Chelmsford Public Garden looks a little bit dreary at this point but if you look closely you will see that there are buds on the trees and the tops of hundreds of daffodil and tulip bulbs are ready to burst into a glorious array of spring colors. The Chelmsford Garden Club has an enthusiastic army of members who have volunteered to render loving care to every inch of the garden. We have added a new bronze plaque that lists Club members, residents, corporations, and service providers whose donations in 2016 helped us to establish the garden. Chelmsford Garden Club is a member of the Garden Club Federation of MA and the National Garden Club Inc.
As we begin Year two, The Club is seeking bids for spring landscaping services and we will be adding plants throughout the growing season. Since gardens are always works in progress, donations are welcome to support the garden's growth in 2017. Donors will be acknowledged with a sign under these categories: Carnation -up to $49, Daisy-$50 to $99, Daffodil $100$199, Lily $200-$499, Rose-$500 or more. If you would like to donate, make checks payable to “The Chelmsford Garden Club” and mail to: Susan Callahan, Treasurer, 5 Pennsylvania Ave., Chelmsford, MA 01824. Opportunities to sponsor a tree or garden section are still available. For more information you can email: chelmsfordgardenclub14@gmail.com or online www.gcfm.org/chelmsfordgardenc...
