Lane Closures on I-495 Northbound and Southbound between the Westford/Chelmsford Town Line to the Route 110 Interchange

CHELMSFORD - The Massachusetts Department of Transportation (MassDOT) is announcing that it will be implementing nightly lane closures on Interstate 495 northbound and southbound between the Westford/Chelmsford town line and the Route 110 interchange in Chelmsford. The closures will be implemented Sunday night through Friday morning 8:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. beginning Sunday, July 18.
These traffic impacts are necessary to allow crews to safely perform pavement milling and resurfacing operations and associated work along this 3.4 mile section of I-495. This contract was awarded to Aggregate Industries which also includes a section of I-93 in the Towns of Medford, Somerville and Stoneham with an estimated total cost of $5.7 million and a completion date of August 2023.
Drivers who are traveling through the area should reduce speed and use caution.
Appropriate signage, law enforcement details, and advanced message boards will be in place to guide drivers through the work area.
