Voices Of Hope bring season’s greetings!
"Ordinary people on an extraordinary mission!"

#CancerSucks
Throughout the year, Voices Of Hope use their talents and voices to raise awareness and money for cancer research. Since it’s beginnings in 2009, VOH has grown to over 200 volunteer members and has raised over a half million dollars for the cause. One of the beneficiaries has been the Henri and Belinda Termeer Center for Targeted Therapies at the Massachusetts General Hospital Cancer Center.
At the end of every year you’ll find VOH all over the North Shore spreading holiday cheer through carolling performances from the MarketStreet in Lynnfield to the Shalin Liu performance center in Rockport to Haverhill’s Festival of Trees to Fuddruckers at Jordan’s in Reading.
On Friday December 8th, members of Voices Of Hope traveled into Boston to the MGH Cancer Center to visit and sing Christmas carols for the staff, patients, and visitors.

For Greg Chastain the founder and President of Voices Of Hope this is a special performance, “The MGH Carolling event is such a special day. It brings to light in such a very personal way why we do what we do all year long. These are folks who need our help and it truly inspires you to get back to work and keep on this journey.”

VOH was conceived by Greg, who lost his mother in 2009 after a long battle with pancreatic cancer, Voices Of Hope is comprised of local performers whose lives have all been touched by cancer.

The Termeer Center at MGH has been the proud recipient of annual support from VOH since their 2012 season. Amazingly, VOH has become one of the highest donors to support the many costs associated with the Termeer Center’s early phase clinical trials of promising new therapies and related studies.
Keith Flaherty, MD, Director of the Termeer Center is very thankful to have the support of Voices Of Hope,
“The efforts that we have undertaken in the past several years –accelerated by Voices Of Hope’s support – have allowed us to understand why it is that one patient responds to a therapy so much better than another,” says Dr. Flaherty. “When we take that learning to the broader cancer population, it allows us to match patients to therapies in a much more precise way.”
As 2017 closes out, the folks at Voices Of Hope are already at work planning two big fundraising productions for next year. On May 5th they will present the musical Working. With songs by STEPHEN SCHWARTZ (Wicked, Pippin,Godspell), JAMES TAYLOR and new music by LIN-MANUEL MIRANDA (Hamilton, In The Heights).
And on October 13th VOH will present it’s 10th Annual Fall Gala
"A Decade Of Hope"—a mix of their best of Broadway and Beyond over the last 10 years.
