Watch Chelmsford HS Band's Patriotic Performance in D.C.

The band represented Massachusetts over the weekend at the National Independence Day Parade.

While most of their classmates were going to barbecues and hanging out at the pool this Fourth of July, members of the Chelmsford High School marching band were putting on a show in the nation’s capital.

The band marched in the National Independence Day Parade in Washington, D.C., over the weekend as official representatives from the state. Sen. Elizabeth Warren nominated the band for the honor earlier this year.

The parade featured floats and marching bands from across the United States, and marching bands are selected on overall quality, as well as geographical, ethnic and stylistic diversity.

The Chelmsford band also has performed at Walt Disney World and will be performing at an upcoming Boston Red Sox game this season.
