We Can Use Merrill's Sound Fiscal Sense on Board of Selectmen

As a lifelong resident of Chelmsford, but even more so as a taxpayer, I enthusiastically endorse Laura Merrill's candidacy for Selectman.

As a lifelong resident of Chelmsford, but even more so as a taxpayer, I enthusiastically endorse Laura Merrill's candidacy for a seat on the Board of Selectmen. Laura has lived in Chelmsford for 20 years and has two children who attend Parker Middle School and Chelmsford High and has a history of being deeply involved in the community. Laura is a two-term Town Meeting representative from Precinct 2 with a voting record that demonstrates fiscal conservatism. She is a working professional, specializing in problem-solving and business solutions -- skills that are incredibly valuable on a board that governs over Chelmsford's $120 million budget. Even more impressive than her professional background and her demonstrated community involvement, however, is Laura's reputation as an independent and unbiased voter at town meetings. Laura questions every budget issue with old-fashion Yankee prudence, trying to insure that the taxpayer's investments are well spent. Laura's top priority, and the one that secured my vote, is to slow the ever-rising property taxes and start providing tax relief to msford's property owners. Chelmsford needs Laura Merrill and I respectfully suggest that residents consider giving one of their two votes for selectman to her on election day. RICHARD P. McCLURE Chelmsford
