Where Are the Worst Potholes in Chelmsford?

Chelmsford Patch readers told us Amble Road and Chestnut Hill Road are among the worst in town. Do you agree?

Although many in Massachusetts are looking forward to all the snow and ice lining their streets to begin melting, there is a possibly unexpected consequence to melted ice. Potholes.

Potholes are formed when moisture seeps into cracks in the pavement, expands as temperatures drop below freezing and then melts away when the weather gets warmer.

But potholes are already a problem in Chelmsford, even without the sun. Patch asked readers to tell us where the worst potholes are in Chelmsford.

Here’s what some of them had to say:

  • There are two man hole covers side by side on Chestnut Hill Road, around #24 I think, that look like they are about to collapse. They are sunken in and there’s a large crack all the way across the road. Just a matter of time....
  • Amble Road has a few manhole covers that have risen quite a bit the last few months.
  • There’s a pretty big one on the corner of Turnpike and Porter

If you’ve experienced roads pockmarked with holes in Chelmsford, or have a picture of a particularly large pothole, let us know in the comments section below.
