• More than pocket change needed for proposed pocket park (concordbridge.org) — Neighbors in West Concord are pushing the town to use Community Preservation Act funds to buy a small slice of a new Highland Street subdivision for a pocket park, estimated at $770,000. Supporters say the green space would connect pedestrians heading to the train station and soften a rapidly developing area, while officials weigh the funding request alongside other Concord projects this winter.
   

• Regional Notebook: Sept. 21, 2026 (recorder.com) — Concord is one of four Habitat for Humanity build sites where nearly 50 Massachusetts Order of the Eastern Star members recently volunteered, helping with tasks from framing to painting. The regional roundup also highlights an upcoming Ludlow Comedy Night fundraiser to fight food insecurity and recognizes Franklin County students named to Holyoke Community College's dean's list.
