Former Concord Resident, Employed at Data Terminal Systems

Florence Mildred Mead, 84, of Billerica, formerly of Concord died Thursday February 28, 2013 in Burlington.

Born in Lebanon, New Hampshire on August 7, 1928 she was the daughter of the late Henry and Mildred Guyer. She attended Lebanon schools and was a graduate of Lebanon High School.

From 1964 until 1982 she resided in Concord where her former husband Russell Mead served as Headmaster of Concord Academy.

For several years Mrs. Mead was employed as a troubleshooter at Data Terminal Systems in Maynard.

A Billerica resident since 1982, she was affectionately known as "Nana" and was the owner and operator of a  Day Care in her Billerica home. She was an avid knitter and crocheter.  

She was the mother of Judith A. V. Mead of Billerica and the late Roger W. Vaila and the late Michael E. Mead.   


The last survivor of eight siblings, she is also survived by many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews, and by many friends in the Concord and Billerica areas.

Reverend Lilian Warner, New England Deaconess will officiate at a Memorial Service on Saturday, May 4th at 11 AM in the Duval Chapel, 80 Deaconess Road, Concord, Massachusetts.

Arrangements under the care of DEE FUNERAL HOME OF CONCORD, Susan M. Dee and Charles W. Dee, Jr., Funeral Directors.
