UPDATED: Firefighters Battle Brush Fire at Middlesex School

CONCORD, MA—The Concord Fire Department is responding to a brush fire at the Middlesex School.
The Fire Department made the announcement via its Twitter Account Wednesday. Capt. David Curran told Patch that the fire been knocked down, but crews are still working to dig up remnants of the fire that are two feet under the ground, and crews could remain there for another couple of hours.
Curran also stated that the fire is not spreading, and that it occurred in the conservation land behind the playing fields. The fire is not located near any school buildings.
