C-C Tennis Teams Split Tournament Matches

Boys' team advances; girls' team sent home

One Concord-Carlisle High School tennis team is moving on and one is going home after Massachusetts Interscholastic Athletic Association (MIAA) tournament play on Tuesday.

Top-seeded Concord-Carlisle won its boys' Division I North quarterfinal match 4-1 over Westford Academy. But the girls' squad, seeded ninth, was ousted by Winchester with a 5-0 sweep in the quarterfinals of the Division II North quarterfinals.

The Patriots' girls' squad closes out the season with a 12-6 record.

Concord-Carlisle's boys' team moves on to the semifinals today. The Patriots (19-0) will try to keep their undefeated run going at home against No. 5 Newton South High at 2:30 p.m.

The other semifinal match features No. 2 Lexington hosting No. 3 Andover today at 3:30 p.m.
